Truck taxes are reported between July 1 and August 31 for all the heavy motor vehicles that has a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pounds and more. If you expect your vehicle would be used 5,000 miles (7,500 miles for a farm vehicle) on a public highway, you need to estimate 2290 tax and pay in full. Truck Tax Form 2290 must be filed by the last day of the month following the month of first use, since July.
